Following his victory in the Assin North by-election, the newly elected Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin North, James Gyakye Quayson, has expressed his delight and gratitude.
In his first statement after winning, Quayson acknowledged the challenging circumstances he faced over the past three years but viewed the election outcome as a vindication of his initial victory.
Quayson affirmed his commitment to allowing the legal processes to unfold. He expressed optimism that, with the support of his constituents and his party, he would emerge unscathed from the ongoing legal proceedings.
Quayson emphasized that his victory is not only a personal triumph but also a triumph for the people of Assin North and Ghana as a whole.
He highlighted the conscientiousness of the Assin North electorate, who considered their current living conditions and voted for a candidate committed to bringing about development and transformation.
The MP-elect stressed the importance of politics being centered on development rather than the distribution of money for votes. He stated that democracy itself is about development, and he intends to set a trend that ensures equitable distribution of resources for the benefit of the represented citizens.
