Chief of Army Staff faces backlash as critics disapprove comments on alleged Chief of Defence staff appointment rejection

Chief of Army Staff, Major General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, is facing criticism for his recent remarks addressing speculations about his alleged rejection of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) appointment.

He dismissed the rumors as unfounded during an address to soldiers at the Burma Camp, expressing concern over unwarranted attacks directed at him.

The General expressed disappointment at the negative attention he has been receiving, particularly addressing a recent publication claiming he declined the CDS appointment, which purportedly led to a delay in military reshuffling.

He went on to share the extent to which the rumors have escalated, including claims of mystical (Juju) attempts to harm him.

Despite the challenges, Major General Oppong-Peprah emphasized his resilience and determination in the face of these attacks.

However, some security analysts believe that he should not have made these comments, suggesting that such issues might be better addressed through official channels.
