The appeals committee of the New Patriotic Party has disqualified 17 persons who filed nominations to contest the upcoming NPP parliamentary Primaries after petitions were filed against them.
Speaking at parliamentary primaries updates known at a press conference at Alisa Hotel in Accra, when the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua(JFK), after the National Executive Committee(NEC) and National Council(NC) meetings, he said 376 people picked forms, out of which 17 were disqualified, and 3 candidates pull out from contesting the upcoming primaries.
According to him, an injunction has been placed on the Nhyiaeso elections and there will not be any election in that constituency. He submitted 325 have been cleared to contest the upcoming parliamentary primaries slated Saturday 27th January, 2024.
He also explained the latest on the Sunyani East constituency court case and that the party has resolved to use the 2018 album to conduct the Parliamentary elections in that constituency.
He further concluded that the Bono Regional party and the National Executive Committee(NEC) will set up a Reconciliation committee to address any issue that will come after the Sunyani East constituency election.
