WE HAVE TAKEN STEPS TO IMPROVE LAND ADMINISTRATION ISSUES IN GHANA, AKUFO-ADDO ASSURES SURVEYORS

President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo has assured Surveyors globally that his government have taken a bold step to help improved land administration in Ghana.

He opined that the decision Aims at streamlining land registration,resolved land dispute and also enhance industrial confidence in land transactions,which will enable Ghana to achieve its economic growth.

Speaking at the Opening ceremony of the International Federation of Surveyors working week(FIG WORKING WEEK, 2024),Mr Akufo-Addo urged Surveyors to acquaint themselves with Morden day technological practices as the world keeps moving at a very fast through Digitalisation.

According to him Digitalisation will increase the accuracy of their data and improve the efficiency of their work which they render to their clients.

He added that, there is the need for FIG to ensure that the next generation of Surveyors are equipped with the knowledge and skills with modern day land administration procedures and environmental management.

On his part,Surv. Dr. Anthony Arko-Adjei,
President of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors is optimistic that the conference will enable Ghanaian Surveyors learn innovative ideas from their counterparts across the globe who has been able to curb problems of land degradation through activities of illegal mining(Galamsey).

According to him, Surveyors globally plays a major role in ensuring safer environments for it’s inhabitants, therefore it bestowed on them to make the FIG WORKING WEEK 2024 have a great impact on Ghanaians.

FIG WORKING WEEK 2024, is a week long celebration of innovation and collaboration that unites the global community of Surveying and spatial professionals of which 1,500 Surveyors are expected to attend the conference in Accra Ghana’s Capital.
