Conference of Ashanti Region prisiding members elect newExecutives

Hon Patrick kwame frimpong the Presiding Member (PM) for the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), elected unopposed as the Dean of Presiding Members (PMs) Conference for the Ashanti Region.

The conference of Ashanti Regional prisiding members has been elected their newly executives to steer the affairs Association.

The program was held at Royal Lamerta, Ahodwo, in Kumasi, also led to the

(1) Hon Patrick kwame frimpong the Presiding Member (PM) for the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), elected unopposed as the Dean of Presiding Members (PMs)

(2) Mr. Anthony Kwame Nsiah (Atwima Kwawoma PM); Vice Dean,

(3) Isaac Nsiah Duah (Amansie Central PM); Secretary,

(4) Mr. Augustine Kofi Adomako (Adansi Asokwa PM) Organiser, and

(5) Madam Helina Mensah (Ejisu PM) as treasurer.

Hon Patrick kwame Frimpong, on behalf of the newly elected PMs, thanked the new executives for the confidence reposed in them to lead the conference for the next two years.

According to him, they would do their best to promote the welfare of the members in the best interest of the conference.

“I can assure you that we will not disappoint you but we need your support to succeed, ” he indicated.

Mr. Frimpong said their immediate task is to ensure the implementation of an appreciable End of Service Benefits to Assembly members in Greater Kumasi.

“We’re going to be an effective mouth peace of the conference to bring honour to me, electoral areas, KMA and Asanteman. We shall also advocate the development of the entire Assembly,” he said.

He stressed the need for the members to continue to unite.

With regard to the forthcoming 2024 elections, he appealed to politicians to stop the politicization of election of PMs in the various assemblies who are yet to elect their PMs.

On his part, The immediate past Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Lawyer Dr. Henry Kwabena Kokofu, has advocated a sustainable empowerment for Assembly members to accelerate development.
According to him, the need to involve Assembly members, especially elected Assembly members, for effective grassroot mobilisation ahead of the 2024 general election, cannot be overemphasised.

“We (NPP) need to immediately meet Assembly members across the country, particularly the presiding members (PMs), to get their inputs to be factored ahead of the 2024 polls.

“It’s in our best interest to meet them and bring all of them on board in the campaign. I know our flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in his stakeholders engagement, will soon engage Assembly members, especially PMs,” he noted.
