Former First Lady Mrs. Lordina Dramani Mahama has visited the Hohoe constituency to engage in activities aimed at boosting the campaign of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate, Efo Worlanyi Tsekpo.
During her visit, she met with queen mothers from the Gbi traditional area, where she introduced Tsekpo and discussed pressing issues affecting the development of women and children in their communities.
As President of the Lordina Foundation, Mrs. Mahama’s visit was marked by a significant gesture: she donated a substantial quantity of essential hospital equipment to the Hohoe Regional Hospital.
This donation, made in response to an urgent appeal from Tsekpo, included hospital beds, incubators, baby cots, carts, wheelchairs, stethoscopes, kitchenware, irons, and kettles.
Charles Tokornu, the Hospital Administrator, expressed heartfelt gratitude for Mrs. Mahama’s generous support. He pledged that the donated equipment would enhance healthcare delivery in the community, stating, “We are thrilled with the many items provided… additional resources are crucial to delivering our patients the highest quality of care.”
Efo Worlanyi Tsekpo also expressed his appreciation for Mrs. Mahama’s timely intervention, highlighting the hospital’s neglect over the past eight years and assuring the community that a future NDC government would address pressing challenges in the health sector.
In her remarks, Mrs. Mahama commended the dedication of health staff despite logistical challenges and reaffirmed her commitment to supporting the health sector. Through the Lordina Foundation, she has consistently championed healthcare initiatives over the past two decades, including recent projects that involved constructing maternity and children’s wards in various districts.
