RENEWABLEENERGY, 3RD EDITION OF POWER, AND ENERGY GHANA EXPO ONPEN IN ACCRA

The 3rd edition of the Power and Energy Ghana Expo 2024 has been opened at the Accra international conference centre for industry players.

The three days exhibition will bring together over 50 exhibitors across the globe in the energy ecosystem to showcase the product under one umbrella.

Speaking at the event,Chief Director at the Ministry of Energy, Mrs Wilhelmina Asamoah, envisages government commitment to making Ghana a beacon of sustainable energy and innovation in the region.

According to her,the Ministry has introduced measures to streamline investments in renewable energy projects, enhance regulatory frameworks, and promote energy efficiency across industries.

She pointed out that Ghanaian companies need to produce more of the electrical equipment and services that the energy infrastructure demands by creating both jobs and expertise within the Ghanaian borders.

She opined that the Expo is in line with the government agenda of net zero emissions by the year 2070,which is dedicated to environmental responsibility and leadership in sustainable energy.

H.E. Shri Manish Gupta,High Commissioner to Ghana, is of the view that the energy sector will play a transformative and catalytic role in Ghana’s development.

According to him, the 3rd power and energy expo will also go to power Ghana’s ambitions to be an economic locomotive for the West African sub region.

He urged stakeholders in the energy ecosystem to take the Power and Energy Ghana Expo seriously as the world moves towards the net zero goal.
