LET’S ENSURE TO PRIOTISE OUR HEALTH BY KEEPING THE ENVIRONMENT CLEAN…MCE
Kwahu West Municipal Chief Executive(MCE),Hon Tamimu Halidu has urged Ghanaians to prioritise cleaning and maintaining the environment.
speaking at the first National Sanitation exercise event in 2026, held in the Municipality at Nkawkaw the MCE mentioned, keeping the environment clean leads to good health as most diseases and infections are related to poor hygienic conditions.

“The exercise covered major markets, streets and public spaces and in attendance saw active participation from environmental health officers, Waste management teams, Voluntary Transformation group Eastern and members of the general public”.

On his part, the Municipal Assembly’s Coordinating Director,Rev. Daniel Nkrumah emphasized the need for collective responsibility in keeping the Municipaiity clean and urged traders and residents alike to actively support the Assembly’s sanitation initiatives.
He noted that a clean city is vital to preventing disease and improving the overall wellbeing of the population and the initiative is part of Assembly’s broader strategy to sustain sanitation efforts throughout the Municipaiity to ensure a clean, safe, and healthy environment for residents.
The Coordinating Director further disclosed that the Assembly plans to strengthen its sanitation issues stronger and Participation will ensure sustained cleanliness and instill a culture of responsibility among residents.
Mr. Eric Klenam Enyo the Director of KLENAV Sanitation Company limited,a private Company hired to handle Sanitation issues in the Municipaiity, also reaffirmed their commitment to intensify public education and monitoring to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe environment for the people of Kwahu West Municipaiity
He expressed disappointment of some attitudes of the Residents in the Municipality as hindrance to their work.
In furtherance, the Voluntary Transformation group also expressed concern over the low participation of some traders, highlighting that several market women closed their shops in compliance with the exercise, but many failed to take part in the clean-up activities which she described it as an unfortunate
They concluded by appealing to the public to demonstrate greater commitment in subsequent exercises, stressing that the success of sanitation drive depends on the active participation of all stakeholders.
