KWAHU WEST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY DISBURSED STARTUPS TO PWD’S TO HELP IMPROVE THEIR LIVELIHOOD

 

The Kwahu West Municipal Assembly has distributed start-up tools and capital support to persons living with disabilities(PWDs) funded from the Assembly’s share of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) to help improve their living standards.


Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kwahu West Municipality in the Eastern Region, Hon. Tamimu Halidu advised the beneficiaries not to sell the items given to them but rather start their own businesses to generate incomes and reduce poverty among themselves.

The items that included Deep Freezers along with Stabilizer, Electric Sewing machines, Fufu Pounding machine, Knitting machine and Cabon Digital Camara, among others.

Hon.Tamimu hinted that the start-up tool kits and the money which was presented 70 registered PWDs in the municipality was based on the beneficiaries request and were assessed by the Assembly’s Department of Social Welfare.


On their part, some Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Government and MCE for distributing the transformational items to support their livelihoods and assured they would not sell the items but would use them for the intended purpose.
