NUGCCA National Chairman Urges Catechists to Remain Steadfast in Their Vocation
The National Chairman of the National Union of Ghana Catholic Catechists Association (NUGCCA), Mr. Lawrence Kobla Dafeamekpor, has advised catechists across the country to remain steadfast in their vocation.
According to him, the vocation of catechists is not easy and requires sacrifice and determination to effectively minister to the people of God.
He said catechists draw their strength from God and look to Christ as their leader and example.
Mr. Dafeamekpor was speaking at the Annual National Conference of NUGCCA held in Boga, which brought together catechists from dioceses across the country.
The conference was held on the theme: “Marriage as a Vocation and Sacrament,” chosen to draw attention to the importance of preparing couples adequately for marriage and helping them sustain their unions beyond the wedding ceremony.
He urged all catechists to return to their parishes and teach the faithful that marriage is a holy call to love and service.
He further charged them to intensify education on marriage preparation in their various parishes to help reduce marital challenges and strengthen Christian families.
