
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has apprehended a key suspect in a murder case involving the Assistant Inspector of Immigration, Stephen King Amoah, popularly known as Otumfour Nana was initially reported missing.
At a joint press briefing by the CID and the Cyber Security Authority, Director General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), COP Lydia Yaako Donkor hinted that the Kwabenya District Police Command on 24th of July 2025, received a complaint regarding the disappearance, Mr. Stephen King Amoah.
According to her, primary investigations led to the arrest of Bright Aweh, who upon interrogation, admitted a meeting and gave GHC 500,000 to the deceased on 3rd July, 2025 to pay off some debt.

She opined that the police obtained a warrant to search the room of the suspect, which revealed some blood stains and samples were collected for forensic analysis.
COP Lydia Yaako Donkor added that a further search in the bushes close to the suspect house revealed fufu pistol with blood stains wrapped in polythene.
She alluded that the suspect was on remand after he was arranged before the Adaberaka district court and is scheduled to reappeared in court on 8th August 2025.
