NKAWKAW CENTRAL MARKET REDEVELOPMENT TO BE COMPLETES IN 8 MONTHS.MCE ASSURES.

Hon. Tamimu Halidu,the Kwahu West Municipal Chief Executive (MCE)togetherwithtraditionalleaders has cut sod for the construction of an ultra-modern market Circle at Nkawkaw in the Kwahu West Municipality of the Eastern Region.

The Projects that would be undertaken by “Debagio company Limited”_will be completed within 8 months and Performing the official ceremony to indicate commencement of the project, the MCE, Hon. Tamimu,expressed joy of the commencement of the project.

He thanked the Chief of Kwahu Obomeng Nana Effah Opinamang lll, for his interventions to collaborate with the Assembly to Foster understanding among the traders.


Hon. Tamimu further assured the traders of prioritizing all the existing traders in allocation of the stores before any other individuals are considered after the reconstruction of the Market Circle Complex.

On his part, Nana Effah Opinamang lll,Chief of Kwahu Obomeng, emphasised Nananom’s commitment to ensuring that the contractor of “Debagio company Limited” adheres to the timeline, expressed gratitude for the initiative and pledged their steadfast support towards its realization.

The traditional leader admonished that the redevelopment of the Nkawkaw Market, popularly called Central Market would increase trading within the Market Circle and reduce the number of congestion around the central business Centre.

Finally, Mr. Charles Boahene,the contractor of “Debagio company Limited”also reafirms the 8 months assurance of Completion and said the redeveloped of the Nkawkaw Central Market will comprises lockable stores, a police station, a fire station, a clinic, nursery School as well as the construction of unit stalls.

He added that the market and its associated infrastructure would upgrade insanitary conditions, improve social infrastructure and further stressed, once the project is completed it would reduce congestion in the market and expand infrastructural development in the Municipaiity.
