The executive chairman of the Africa Prosperity Network(APN) has alluded that there must be a way where the natural resources can be integrated into AFCFTA and must be owned by the private sector.
According to Mr him, the Africa Prosperity Dialogue is bestowed on Ghanaians to support the AFCFTA Because is the largest single market in Africa which will help to improve the economic situation of member states.
Speaking at a press briefing to highlight the upcoming event held at AfCFTA headquarters in Accra, the Executive Chairman of the Africa Prosperity Network, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, said the strategic event sought to promote economic prosperity and development across the continent.
More than 20 African leaders are expected to attend the second edition of the Africa Prosperity Dialogue set to take place in Ghana from 25th–27th January 2024.
The event which is being organized by the Africa Prosperity Network, a Ghanaian-led initiative that focuses on promoting sustainable economic growth and development in Africa, rides on the back of the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)
The Africa Prosperity Dialogues is uniquely designed to offer a strategic and trusted annual platform to drive intra-African trade. It is a platform where the highest political and business decision-makers in Africa, discourse and come out with clear, actionable initiatives to enhance trade and prosperity in Africa, aligned with the AU’s Agenda 2063.
The dialogue, which will be hosted by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the Eastern Region (Peduase Lodge), is on the theme: “Delivering prosperity in Africa: Produce, add value, trade”.
The Chief Executive Officer at African Prosperity Network, Njack Kane said it is time for Africans to be honest to each other to be able to enjoy the benefits of the African Continental Free Trade Area(AfCFTA).
According to him, the AfCFTA platform is committed to supporting Africans who are largely into the import of Natural Resources onto the global market for finished products.
He is of the view that the Russian, Ukraine conflict has had a dwindling effect on the African economy and therefore called on the media to collaborate with APN for the Africa Prosperity Dialogue 2024 which aimed at addressing intertrade among African States.
