The much anticipated National Paralympic Committee (NPC) Extraordinary Meeting ended last week at the Airport West Hotel, ACCRA with all affiliated bodies present.
New Associations like Para Boccia, Amputee Football Para Table Tennis, Para Judo, Para Teqball, and Adaptive Boxing, Para Archery, wheelchair rugby, and wheelchair softball were adopted in the Para body.
Membership approved an annual membership dues of thousand Ghana cedis to support its activities.
Amongst the Dignatories who graced the occasion were the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Hon. Evans Opoku Bobie, William Katey, Chief Director of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and Head of Technical, Jeffrey Kumi Manzan.
President of the National Paralympic Committee Mr. Sampson Deen expressed his appreciation to the hierarchy of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ghana Olympic Committee.
He further expressed his desire and commitment to elevate the Paralympic body and announced his candidature in the upcoming elections on October 4th, 2024
The next election is scheduled for October this year.
