Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has confronted Lands Minister Samuel Abu Jinapor over his recent denial regarding the sale of state lands by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
During a press conference on August 14, Jinapor rejected Ablakwa’s allegations that the government is selling state lands to individuals with government connections, asserting that the claims are unfounded.
In response, Mr. Ablakwa held a counter press conference in Parliament on August 15, accusing the government of complicity in the alleged land sales.
He criticized the government for failing to comply with Parliament’s directive to compile a list of all public lands, noting that it has been over two years since the request was made without any action from the Lands Ministry.
He argued that this lack of transparency demonstrates the ministry’s failure to fulfill its constitutional mandate.
Additionally, Ablakwa pledged to ensure that the government publishes a comprehensive list of all state lands by the end of the year, emphasizing the need for accountability and transparency in land management.
