The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akufo Dampare, along with the Police Management Board, has set aside Sunday, November 24, for a nationwide church visit to promote peace ahead of the December 7 elections.
Speaking at the Church of Pentecost in Accra New Town, Dr. Dampare urged congregants to persist in their prayers for peace but stressed that these prayers must be accompanied by concrete actions.

He called on the public to collaborate with the police to enhance security and ensure that the 2024 elections are the most peaceful in Ghana’s history.
Dr. George Akuffo Dampare urged Ghanaians to help identify and report individuals who may pose a threat to national peace and security during the 2024 general elections.
During a discussion on measures to prevent election-related violence, he emphasized the importance of community cooperation in addressing potential risks.
According to him, the Ghana Police Service may not be able to reach everyone, so there could be individuals who believe they can disrupt the peace hence, if anyone hear or see such people in their community, they should inform them.
He reassured the public that law enforcement is prepared to take decisive action against those intending to disrupt the peace.
