ELECTION SECURITY TASK FORCE ENGAGES ACADEMIA FOR PEACEFUL POLLS

The Election Security Committee has held a meeting with leaders of university teacher unions and other members of academia to discuss ways to collaborate for a peaceful election.

The gathering was addressed by the Chairman of the Election Security Committee, who is also the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.

Dr. Dampare emphasized the importance of constructive criticism from the academia, stating that it is crucial for the police to acknowledge their mistakes and work on them to ensure effective policing.

He urged the academia to help keep the police and other security services on their toes, promoting accountability and transparency in the electoral process.
