Lumba Williams Declares Tension to Contest as MCE in the Ga West Municipality

Lumba Williams has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region in Ghana. Williams attributed his popularity to his good deeds, which have earned him widespread recognition.

A loyal member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Williams has been actively involved with the party since 2006, serving as Branch Chairman and Coordinator in Amasaman until 2014. He emphasized the importance of supporting the party at the grassroots level, noting that success in elections relies heavily on this foundation.

Williams also highlighted his commitment to community development, regularly attending various programs and events, including Muslim and Christian gatherings, weddings, and other community functions. He stressed that party work, though initially voluntary, has evolved into a business that requires motivation, support, and encouragement to thrive.

Regarding his candidacy for MCE, Williams acknowledged that the party must establish clear rules and regulations to ensure that only those who have actively supported the party during campaigns and at the grassroots level are eligible to contest. Interestingly, Williams claimed to have videos that will serve as evidence during the election period.

It’s worth noting that the Ga West Municipal Assembly has experienced challenges in the past, including the failure to elect a presiding member ยน. As Williams vies for the MCE position, his commitment to community development and party loyalty will likely be scrutinized by voters and party leaders alike.
