MCE STRENGTHENS AND DEEPENS TIES TO EMPOWER COMMUNITIES TO SPUR DEVELOPMENT.

 

The Kwahu West Municipal Chief Executive (MCE)Hon. Tamimu Halidu has called on residents in the Municipality to always engage the assembly over their grievances to help in community development.

He said community members and residents are key stakeholders in development and must collaborate with the Assembly to find solutions to challenges stressing, such collaborative effort is needed for planning and implementation of development projects to spur growth and development in communities in the Kwahu West Municipality, Eastern Region.

The MCE said this when he met and interacted with residents, associations and groups, traders, transport operators, traditional authorities, and Assembly members in the Municipality aimed to create an interactive platform where stakeholders could voice their concerns and collaborate on finding viable solutions for the Municipality’s challenges and execution of development projects in the Communities.

Hon. Tamimu stressed, Galamsey fight should not be politicised, rather all must come together irrespective of one’s political affiliation to undertake the fight especially, the Chief’s because they know those engaged in illegal mining called galamsey.

Highlighting on Galamsey fight,Nana Ampadu Sakyi ll,chief of Yaw-Koko,_ made a passionate appeal to the MCE to join hands with the Traditional Leaders in the fight against illegal mining, commonly known as “galamsey” and further described the unchecked destruction of lands through illegal mining as a major threat to his Community, so therefore used the opportunity to warned the galamsers of their unlawful activities.

Touching on in-Security at Kwahu Awerigya,Nana Asiedu Wadie ll,chief of Kwahu Awerigya,on his part, also made a hum­bled appealed to the MCE, Hon. Tamimu, for a “POLICE STATION” at Kwahu Awerigya to ensure Serene environment, since there are a lot of *Hooliganasm, Drug Addit and Criminal activities,* on the rise, as he refered to a recent murder case of a woman butchered by one youngman at the same electeral area.
