YOUTH URGED TO PARTICIPATE IN MARRIAGE PROGRAMS
Parish Priest at Saint John Paul the Second Catholic Church, Ablekuma, Reverend Father Francis, has urged youth to participate in programs that can help their marriage life, so they can learn different ways to keep their marriage strong.
Speaking after the couple’s night program, Reverend Father Francis expressed disappointment that a lot of youth did not show up, and it was mainly people who had married for long, forty years and above, who showed up. He said usually, it’s the youth that face a lot of challenges with marriage, and he was thinking they would be the ones to attend, but it didn’t turn out that way. He concluded by encouraging them to participate in programs like that.
According to Reverend Father Francis, the programs are designed to equip young couples with the necessary tools to build a strong and lasting marriage. He emphasized that marriage is a lifelong commitment and requires effort and dedication from both partners.
Parishioners of the church also shared words of wisdom, with Mrs Acheampong noting that for marriage to stand, there must be peace in the house. One woman, who has been married for twenty-eight years, emphasized that women play a crucial role in sustaining marriage, advising them to have patience.
Mrs. Osei shared that the program was great, reminding her of her own marriage, and appreciating the opportunity to reflect. She noted that the program wasn’t just for married couples, but also for those in courtship, and was glad to see some youth in attendance.
The program featured various speakers who shared their experiences and insights on building a successful marriage. Mr. Osei thanked all the brains behind the program, asking for God’s blessing for them, and encouraged them to do more of these programs.
The church has announced plans to organize more programs aimed at strengthening marriages and equipping young couples with the necessary skills to build a lasting relationship.
