E/R: LET’S BUILD THE DISTRICT THROUGH AGRICULTURE WITH PURE FARMING.
The Kwahu East District Assembly celebrate it’s 41st Farmers’ Day and honoured farmers whose work continues to sustain the country’s food security and rural economy, under the theme: FEED GHANA, EAT GHANA, SECURE THE FUTURE. and the District also awarded the best performing farmers in the District.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Samuel Asamoah, the Kwahu East District Chief Executive, expressed that the Farmers Day celebration showcases agricultural innovation and strategy that is aimed at strengthening the district’s food systems in the agric sector.
“Agriculture has not only diagnosed challenges of the agricultural system, but the District has also put the necessary groundwork to restructure urgent action, bold reforms and determined implementation in the irrigation development stressing, the District has laid a cornerstones for a productive inclusive food economy”.
On her part, 39 years old Mr. Atanga Akwasi, popularly known as (Bone) emerged the Winner of the Kwahu East District’s overall Best performing Farmer thanked the District’s Agric Extension Agents for his recognition and used the opportunity to advised his colleague farmers to inculcate the habit of following advice to help them improve their farming activities in order to benefit from their sweat.
He alluded that advice from the Agricultural “Extension Agents” on proper farming practices to appropriate crop variety to plant, which had benefited him tremendously.
