Residents of _Mamoom_ came together in peace and joy to celebrate this year’s _Homowo Festival_ with traditional music, dancing, and thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest.
Speaking at the event, the _Chief of Mamoom_ commended the people for celebrating in unity and harmony. He however used the occasion to appeal to government for urgent development in the community.
The Chief specifically called for government intervention in _constructing roads, building a hospital, and providing proper waste management facilities_ for Mamoom.
He lamented the lack of a health facility in the area, noting that residents must travel all the way to _Nsawam_ for medical care.
“If someone is not feeling well, you must move all the way from Mamoom to Nsawam before you can be treated,” the Chief said. “It is good that Nsawam hospital is there, but our people need a hospital closer to home. We are therefore pleading with government to come to our aid.”
The Chief urged government and stakeholders to prioritize the needs of Mamoom to improve livelihoods and make future Homowo celebrations more meaningful.
Residents present also echoed the call, saying better roads and health facilities will bring development and relief to the community.
