Some commercial drivers at the newly constructed Dompoase Junction Lorry Terminal at Atonsu in the Asokwa municipality of the Ashanti region have expressed their disappointment in their member of parliament for the Asokwa constituency Hon Patricia Appiagyei for failing to address issues pending between them and some drivers operating on unauthorized lorry terminal at High School Junction.
According to the aggrieved drivers, after the construction of the Dompoase Junction lorry terminal by the government of Ghana, some commercial drivers immediately created an unauthorized lorry terminal at Unity Oil filling station so they logged a complaint to Asokwa municipal assembly and Hon Patricia Appiagyei, MP but both failed to address the situation which is pending.
They said upon the hope imposed in their MP believing she could solve the situation she rather empowered those operating under the unauthorized lorry terminal to continue to operate and now the newly constructed Lorry Terminal has collapsed without passengers attending to them.
The drivers opined that, if their member of parliament has failed to address their issues then they need someone who can help create an enabling environment to enhance their businesses in the community.
“Delegates may collect huge amounts of money to retain her but we also have the power to vote shirt and Blaise comes December 7, 2024′ they added.
