The Minister of Education Mr Yaw Osei Adutwum has indicated that the one free chocolate Initiative promised by the President in the year 2017 is yet to begin.
In a Parliamentary question posed by the Member of Parliament for Builsa South Clement Apaak which sought to know whether the one free chocolate per student in primary and Secondary Schools in Ghana has begun.
He further said the minority would continue to follow the matter to the bottom in making sure that, such initiative is executed to the benefit of Ghanaian students.
The minister stated that the One Chocolate per Student initiative sought to boost the consumption of local cocoa products.
According to Mr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, the initiative was to be led by the Ministry of Agriculture through COCOBOD, with support from the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection through the school feeding program and the Ministry of Education through the Ghana Education Service.
