Minister for Interior, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, has issued a total ban on all ammunition and offensive weapons in the Bawku Municipality and its surrounding communities.
“Meanwhile, there is a total ban on all person in the afore-mentioned communities and their environs from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapons,” he stated.
In a press statement signed by the Minster, “any persons found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted.”
This is as part of government’s efforts to restore peace in the Bawku Municipality following unrest in various communities.
