RESTORE RULE OF LAW IN THE MINING SECTOR— LMWG TO AKUFO-ADDO

Lands and Mining Watch Ghana(LMWG) is calling on the President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo to a to intervene and restore sanity in the Mining sector.

The group opined that it is imperative that government of Ghana fulfills its duty to protect, its interests, particularly its substantial 10% stake in the Adamus Resources.

Speaking at a press conference to address the Disregard for Court Orders and Protect Ghana’s interests in the Mining sector, Convener for the group, Solomon Owusu stated that the blatant disregard for the rule of Law by the Judiciary is unacceptable and demands immediate redress.

According to him, some security agencies are involved in facilitating the illegal exportation of gold despite a pending injunction application which undermine public trust in the integrity of law enforcement instructions.

“The revelation that Angela List ,in collaboration with select individuals from Political and security circles, has orchestrated a bold and illegal scheme to export gold valued at over 7 million USD from Adamus Resources”.

He therefore urged the media, civil society organizations, and all stakeholders must unite in demanding accountability and transparency.
