The aggrieved Drivers Unions at Kwahu Afram Plains are protesting against the Management of “Volta lake Transport Company Limited,” Mp’s and DCE’s or the area as well as President of the country, Nana Akuffo Addo for Neggreting and Denying the people of Kwahu Afram Plains good Road Network.
Addressing the media, on behalve of the Drivers Unions, Mr. Manasseh, stressed, the main purpose of the Demonstration is the authorities failure to fulfil their promises and said they demand an immediate attention on their needs as follows:
1) Contruction of the Ferry parking yard within possible time.
2) Proper Management of the Ferry thus, fix with two engines immediately.
3) A fix meeting with the Board of the Volta lake Transport Company Limited Management.
4.) Construction of Nkawkaw Adawso, Ekye-Amanfrom, Donkokrom major Road.
He emphasised, with all this un-attended problems, the Transport Unions who Ply the roads has declared a sit-down strike with a Demonstration over the authorities failure to fulfil their promises on the deplorable roads and bad condition of the Ferry (Pantoo) at Adawso to Ekye-Amanfrom.
On his part, Mr. Manasseh Kwasi Owusu, on behalve of the Drivers Union, who is the (PRO) for the Kwahu Afram Plains Drivers Unions, entrusted, they have laid a lot of complaints to the management of “Volta Lake Transport Company Limited Authorities” about the mantainance of the deplorable State of the Parking Yard and the Government on the poor state of the Afram Plains Road Network, demanded and appealed to the DCE’s, MP’s and the MINISTERS of RAODS and HIGHWAY, about the terrible nature of the Bad Roads in the area and it’s enclaves, but nothing has been done.
In Furtherance, some of the aggrieved Drivers expressed that, most of the roads they have been complained includes, KWAHU-TAFO, ADAWSO, EKYE-AMANFROM, DONKOKROM, MAAME-KROBO and it’s ENCLAVE which has been described as a “serious risk to both health and safety due to it’s deplorable state and the aggrieved Drivers therefore used the Opportunity to appealed to the President, NANA AKUFO-ADDO to also fulfil his promised of Constructing the BRIDGE from “ADAWSO to EKYE-AMANFROM RIVER as promised during Campaigning for power.
Finally, the Station Officer (S.O) of Kwahu Afram Plains Ferry (Pantoo) Mr. Marfo Dua Eliajah, recieving the pettition explained, the management is aware of the problems and they are on it to solve them, so therefore, assured to send the pettition recieved to the management.
