Former President Mahama urges religious leaders to speak truth to power

Former President John Dramani Mahama has called on religious leaders to always abide by the truth and speak truth to power, particularly in relation to political leaders.

Speaking at a gathering of religious leaders in Sunyani during his four-day campaign tour of the Bono region, Mr. Mahama emphasized the importance of honesty and integrity in their leadership roles.

He stated that religious leaders have a moral obligation to address the economic pressures faced by citizens due to the actions and inactions of duty bearers.

Mahama urged them to be impartial and objective in their teachings, focusing on promoting unity and understanding among their followers.

He highlighted the significant role that religious leaders play in shaping public opinion and called on them to use their platforms to promote peace and harmony in society.
