This action was not just a demonstration but a declaration that we stand united in our demand- Fifi Kwetey

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) held a nationwide demonstration today, rallying thousands of supporters to demand a forensic audit of the voters’ register.

The event highlighted the party’s commitment to transparency and accountability in Ghana’s electoral process, as participants voiced their concerns over the integrity of the upcoming elections.

In a statement following the demonstration, NDC General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey expressed heartfelt gratitude to all Ghanaians who participated.

He emphasized that the strong turnout sent a clear message that “the people of Ghana will not accept anything less than a fair electoral process.”

“This action was not just a demonstration but a declaration that we stand united in our demand for a forensic audit of the voters’ register. We believe this is a necessary step to ensure that every vote truly counts and to maintain the integrity of our democracy,” Mr Kwetey stated.

According to him, the NDC’s call for a forensic audit aligns with the Electoral Commission’s stated motto of “Transparency, Fairness, and Integrity.”

Mr Kwetey urged the EC to uphold these principles and fulfill its commitment to ensuring a credible electoral process.

Despite the conclusion of today’s demonstration, Fifi Kwetey reassured supporters that the NDC’s fight for electoral integrity would continue.

“We remain resolute and will press on until our demands are met,” he asserted.

He says the party plans to engage with various stakeholders and explore all avenues to achieve a transparent electoral system.
