Promptly repay loans to safeguard the bank’s financial ecosystem- Shareholders to debtors

Microfin Rural Bank has held its 11th Annual General Meeting to receive, consider and adopt reports of the Directors, Auditors’ and Financial Statements for the year and deliberate on strategies aimed at driving future growth to enhance shareholders value and delivering of exceptional customer satisfaction.

The Board Chairman of Directors, Microfin Rural Bank, Mr. Leslie Botchwey, delivering his address explained, in spite of the challenges faced by banks, Microfin Rural Bank remained a viable business with significant potentials for further growth and value creation for its shareholders on performance, strategic expansion and increased capitalisation.

He used the opportunity to cautioned businesses and borrowers to promptly repay their loans acquired from banks to ensure the continuity of their ventures.

Mr. Botchwey also thanked the Banks efficient staff’s that are poised to deliver timely satisfactory services with appropriate modern technology, honesty, commitment, and dedicated to duty.

On behalf of the Apex Bank Ghana, the Ethics Manager and a Lawyer at Apex, Vincent Osei Tuffour, commended Microfin Rural Bank for improving its record performance, strategic expansion, and increased capitalization review on their agenda as well as its respect and regard for customer satisfaction and community development.

According to him, it is necessary to safeguard the financial ecosystem in the bank, stressing the need to promote financial sustainable enterprises through the implementation of innovative and cost-effective savings mobilization to reduce poverty in their catchment areas.

He also urged lenders to do their due diligence to ascertain the credit risk levels of requesting for loans and ensure continuity of lending loans.

He stressed that the delay in repaying back loans breeds mistrust and jeopardizes a borrower’s chance of accessing any other credit facility going forward.
