The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Offinso South Constituency has successfully concluded a five-day soccer tournament aimed at fostering community unity and political engagement.
The event, organized in partnership with Dombo’s for Bawumia and funded by UK-based Richard Agyare, ran from October 30 to November 3 in Agyeimpra.
The tournament served as a platform to promote unity among communities while allowing NPP representatives to connect with constituents and garner support for their parliamentary candidate, Hon. Dr. Isaac Opoku, and presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Richard Agyare, who co-organized the event with his wife, Mrs. Mercy Dombo, explained the tournament’s purpose, indictating that they wanted to bring the community together, build relationships, and encourage unity.

According to him, this tournament is not just about sports; it’s about fostering collaboration and mutual support among the people while building a stronger commitment to the vision of the NPP.
Joe Sala, NPP Chairman for Offinso South Constituency, expressed confidence in the party’s position within the constituency, projecting that the NPP would secure over 73% of votes in the upcoming election.
He praised the constituency’s democratic maturity and cited the tournament’s high participation as an encouraging sign of community engagement.
The event’s success in bringing together various communities within Offinso South demonstrates the effectiveness of sports as a tool for both community building and political mobilization as the 2024 elections approach.
