The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has called for the immediate dismissal of Brigadier General Michael Opoku due to allegations of initiating the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election shootings.
Addressing the press at the party headquarters in Accra, Sammy Gyamfi the national communications director of the NDC stressed that promoting Brigadier General Michael Opoku as Officer Commandant of the Central Commandant, and Miss Crenz, like that, should not be allowed anywhere near the security architecture for the impending 2024 general elections.
The NDC wishes to send notice, and notice is here I said, to Brigadier General Michael Oppoku and his elk in the new patriotic party, that we have them under our radar, and we will continue to monitor them with eagle eyes. This time around, he and his elk shall not succeed.
He complained that Violence cannot and will not win the NPP this year’s election. Calls on the Inspector General of Police, who is a chairman of the election security tax force, not to allow any person to accept his authority. Genyans still await justice for the eight innocent Genyans, who were shot and killed during the 2020 elections, including those shots in broad daylight, attaching themselves.
He threatened that If Brigadier General Opoku tries initiate any chaos to rig the 2024 elections for the NPP, he will not leave to see the aftermath of this year’s election, because the people of this country will not set a loop and allow innocent Genyans to be murdered.
