E/R, ENVIRONMENTAL PUSH FOR WASTE-TO-WEALTH AN INNOVATIONS TO MAINTAIN CLEAN ENVIRONMENT AND IMPROVE SANITATION.
The National Commission for Civil Education, together with the Kwahu West Municipal Chief Executive (MCE),Hon. Tamimu Halidu and some selected schools within the Municipality have launched this year’s “World Environmental Day” held at Nkawkaw Church of Christ Chaple within the Municipality
The celebrations are to explore how waste can become a lunchpad for youth-led entrepreneurship and renewed calls to turn waste into economic opportunity, championing innovation and economy solutions to drive climate action.
Addressing at the Lunch, Hon.Tamimu Halidu,in his speech, highlighted key areas, including environmental sustainability, proper waste management, reforestation, and responsible citizenship.
Hon. Tamimu Halidu reaffirmed his commitment to expanding youth-led waste innovations, especially in the Kwahu West Municipality, and emphasised the need for systemic support to help young innovators to make waste-to-wealth a reality of focus on climate adaptations.
Finally, Hon. Tamimu Halidu,MCE encouraged the student to use him as a model to make informed decisions for their future because he was once like them, but it took hard work and perseverance to reach where he is now.
He further urged them to be ambassadors of sustainable environmental practices in order to save the environment for a better and healthier living.
