COMMISSIONING OF AMRAHIA HEALTH CENTER AND MATERNITY BLOCK WILL HELP REDUCE MORTALITY RATE – ADENTAN MCE

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Adentan, Hon. Ella Esinam Christine Ningo, says the commissioning of the Amrahia Health Center and its maternity block will significantly help reduce mortality rates in the municipality.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Hon. Ningo said the provision of the two facilities marks a major step in the Assembly’s drive to improve access to quality healthcare and bring essential health services closer to residents.

She noted that limited access to nearby health facilities, especially for maternal and emergency cases, has over the years contributed to preventable deaths in the area.

According to her, the new health center and maternity block will ensure timely healthcare delivery, improve maternal and child health, and reduce the burden on existing health facilities within the municipality.

She explained that the maternity block will particularly address challenges related to childbirth and antenatal care, which are critical to reducing maternal and neonatal mortality.

Municipal Health Director at the Adentan Municipal Assembly, Dr. Precela Nyarko commended the Member of Parliament and the MCE for their commitment to improving the healthcare ecosystem.

She expressed optimism that the new center will ease pressure on existing facilities and improve health outcomes in the municipality.

The facility is expected to provide outpatient services, maternal health, and emergency care to residents of Amrahia.

Dr. Nyarko assured the general public that nurses are ready and willing to serve the municipality and therefore they should be rest assured when they visit the facility.
