DR. KWASI OPPONG-FOSU DECLARES TO CONTEST FOR NDC NATIONAL CHAIRMANSHIP, PROMISES TO RESTORE CONNECTION BETWEEN LEADERSHIP AND GRASSROOTS

Former Minister for Local Government and Rural Development and former Head of Local Government Service, Dr. Kwasi Oppong-Fosu, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Dr. Oppong-Fosu made the declaration at a well-attended ceremony in Accra on Thursday, with a strong message centered on party renewal, institutional strengthening, and restoring the bond between the leadership and the grassroots.

According to him, the NDC has reached a critical point where it must rebuild trust within its own political family and return power to its true owners the branch and constituency members.

Dr. Oppong-Fosu noted that while the party has made history by winning the 2024 general elections under President John Dramani Mahama, the next phase requires a Chairman who will move the party from personality and faction-driven politics to a system-driven, institutionally strong political organization.
