
Onion farmers and sellers in the Ashanti Region are calling on the government through ministry of food and agriculture to give enough resources to local Onion farmers to help produce enough onion to reduce the rate of importation of onion from nearby countries like Burkina Faso and Niger.
They maintained that, they always spend huge amount of money to import Onion into the country but believes that, when the local union farmers received financial support from the government will help create employment opportunities to number of Ghanaians as well as boosting the economy.
“Ghana is blessed with enough lands why should we import unions from Burkina Faso” they added.
