The District Chief Executive, together with Parliamentary Candidate of Fanteakwa South has commissioned a floor pavement with concrete Kerbs and market sheds at Ehiamankyene to pave way for traders to provide a serene environment for business activities in the community.
Speaking during the commissioning of the facility, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Fanteakwa South, Hon. Ernest Ofosu, stated that the market would enable residents of the Ehiamankyene community to undertake their day- to- day economic trading activities.
This, according to him, will improve the lives of people, as well as increase revenue in the district.
He advised the traders to do well to be responsible in honouring their tax obligation in order to increase revenue generation to speed up developmental projects implementation and build more markets in various communities in the districts since the market remains the largest market in the district.
On his part, the Parliamentary Candidate for Fanteakwa South Constituancy, Duke Ofori Atta, also reminded them of the need to make good use of the facility and ensure environmental cleanliness to avert outbreak of any airborne diseases.
He is hopeful that the market would be kept clean and healthy to make the grounds attractive for the patronage of community members and other visitors.
Speaking on behalf of the Ehiamankyene Market, Queen Mother Naa Manye Yookama, Madam Elizabeth Maamele Akwei-tey, lauded the DCE and expressed gratitude for the projects.
She noted that adequate care would be taken to ensure the longevity of the project and achieve their intended purpose.
She used the opportunity to appeal to the DCE to provide them with lockable market stores.
