Nana Yaw Wiredu has been elected as the Ashanti Regional Representative for the National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG).
He secured this position during NALAG’s regional delegate conference held in Kumasi, where he received overwhelming support from delegates who praised his dedication to local governance.
As the presiding member of the Asokwa District, Nana Yaw Wiredu takes over from the outgoing representative, committing to tirelessly advance NALAG’s interests and those of its member institutions in the Ashanti Region.
In his acceptance speech, he expressed gratitude to the delegates and emphasized his commitment to effective local governance, addressing local authorities’ concerns, and collaborating with NALAG’s national executives to enhance socio-economic development.
NALAG’s General Secretary, Kokro Amankwah, congratulated Nana Yaw Wiredu on his election and urged local government authorities to support him in his new role.
He also stressed the importance of maintaining peace during the 2024 elections between the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), highlighting that a stable political environment is crucial for effective governance and development.
