Axim Old Paddies, an organization formed by friends who grew up together, has made a significant impact during this year’s Kundum Festival by reaching out to the Axim Government Hospital.
Their main focus was the children’s ward, where they donated 15 mattresses and pillows to address the pressing need for patient beds.
Health workers at the hospital had reported that the lack of beds forced patients to leave and return for treatment, which was not ideal.
The donation was received by Dr. Theodora Sutherland on behalf of the hospital, who expressed gratitude for the timely support.
President of the Axim Old Paddies, Adelaide Yankey, emphasized the importance of community involvement, encouraging others to contribute rather than solely relying on government assistance.
According to her, this initiative reflects their commitment to helping those in need and demonstrates how community efforts can make a meaningful difference in local healthcare.
