Don’t vote for NPP again if you’re concerned about your future –Ato Forson

The Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has urged Ghanaians to reconsider their support for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming December 7 general elections.

Speaking at a community engagement event in Accra, Forson asserted that no citizen concerned about the nation’s future would choose to maintain the NPP in power, citing the party’s reckless borrowing as a primary concern that has jeopardized Ghana’s economic stability.

Mr Forson emphasized that the country’s debt crisis has become so severe that it is now impossible for the government to meet its financial obligations.

He stated that the NPP government is destroying the future of our youth with excessive borrowing, calling on citizens to vote for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to help rectify the situation.

He specifically appealed to supporters in the Okaikwei North constituency to mobilize votes for incumbent MP Theresa Lardi Awuni, encouraging them to ensure her re-election for continued progress in local development. In a pointed critique,

Mr Forson described the NPP’s parliamentary candidate for Okaikwei North as ineffective, noting her lack of contributions during her eight years in Parliament. He questioned how such a candidate could lead and develop the constituency effectively.

In response, Hon. Theresa Lardi Awuni highlighted her accomplishments over her three-and-a-half years in office, urging constituents to retain her for a second term and support John Dramani Mahama for the presidency in 2025.
