NDC condemns EC’s dissolution of Joana Gyan Cudjoe

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has raised serious concerns regarding the recent dissolution of Joana Gyan Cudjoe, describing it as a threat to democracy in Ghana.

During a press conference held today at the party’s headquarters in Adabraka, Accra, NDC General Secretary Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey condemned the Electoral Commission’s (EC) decision, labeling it an assault on the rights of Ghanaians and a significant blow to the principles of democracy.

Mr Kwetey emphasized that this move undermines the fairness of the electoral system and jeopardizes the future of the nation.

“Let us fight with every breath to ensure that justice prevails, that our institutions remain independent, and that our democracy remains strong,” he noted.

According to him, the NDC is committed to demanding accountability from the EC and advocating for leaders who respect the rule of law.

He also highlighted the need for transparency and fairness in Ghana’s electoral processes.

Mr Kwetey stressed that the party’s leadership argues that the basis for Cudjoe’s disqualification is flawed, particularly since the election upon which this decision was made is no longer taking place.

Mr Kwetey referred to this disqualification as a travesty of justice, asserting that it reflects poorly on the integrity of Ghana’s democratic institutions
