The Deputy Commissioner in charge of Corporate Services, Dr. Bossman Asare, has announced that presidential election results will be announced regionally.
This move, according to him, aims to increase checks and balances in the electoral process.
To achieve this, all parties will have agents at both the constituency and regional levels to monitor the process. This collaboration will help the EC ensure the integrity of the elections.
Speaking at the launch of 2024 Elections Day Observation and Post-Election Activities organized by CODEO and CDD at Fiesta Royale hotel in Accra, Dr. Asare expressed confidence that this year’s election will be one of the most successful, building on the EC’s 95% performance rating from the European Union and other observers in the 2020 elections.
He however said, the EC’s efforts to promote transparency and accountability are commendable.
By announcing results regionally, the commission demonstrates its commitment to fairness and integrity. With the support of political parties and observers, Ghana’s electoral process is poised for success.
