Amasaman Independent PC launches Skills Training Program to empower constituents

Independent Parliamentary Candidate for the Amasaman Constituency, Bishop Samuel K. Denoo, has organized a skills training program aimed at boosting the entrepreneurial skills of community members.

The initiative, themed “Job and Cash,” took place on Saturday, November 2, 2024, and is designed to empower participants by providing practical skills and startup capital to enhance their livelihoods.

The training covered a variety of skills, including soap making and shower gel production, with Bishop Denoo revealing his ambitious target to train approximately 10,000 individuals in the constituency.

The first batch of training successfully engaged around 300 to 400 participants, all of whom benefited from the program.

In addressing the media, Bishop Denoo emphasized the importance of skill acquisition for economic empowerment, noting that many people have undergone training but are unable to start their own businesses due to financial constraints.

Bishop Denoo also committed to monitoring the outputs of the trainees and facilitating the export of their products to international markets, thereby expanding their reach and creating more opportunities for local entrepreneurs.

He acknowledged criticisms suggesting that his initiatives are politically motivated but argued that if such programs lead to improvements in every constituency, it should be seen as a positive outcome.

He advocates for continued empowerment through skills training and capital funding as a means to reduce unemployment in Amasaman.

“What I am doing is just the beginning; I will continue empowering constituents so they can embrace skills and education,” he affirmed.

Doris Mirekuwaa, known as Mama Dee, the Director of Campaign for Bishop Denoo, highlighted the significance of skill acquisition in alleviating poverty and unemployment in the constituency.

She praised the initiative for providing hundreds with training and startup capital, urging community members to seize opportunities for skill development.

Beneficiaries of the training expressed their gratitude towards Bishop Denoo for his initiatives and promised to apply their newly acquired skills effectively to improve their lives.
