You talk of unemployment yet you keep sacking them- Afenyo-Markin to Prez Mahama

Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markun has criticized President John Mahama for complaining about the rise in youth employment but sacked a lot of youth who were already employed in the previous government.

Speaking on the floor of Parliament after the State of the Nation Address (SONA), delivered by President John Dramani Mahama, Alexander Afenyo-Markin lamented that in less than one hundred days of President Mahama’s administration, he has rendered a lot of youth jobless.

”…he is telling us today that we have 2.2 million youths unemployed but what he has forgotten is that in his administration, in less than 100 days, all we know is sack them and dismissals.”

”On the street of Accra today, the youth of the country are saying Mahama baako, termination bebree.”

Delivering his first SONA, President John Dramani Mahama revealed that youth employment is one of the biggest issues facing Ghana and for this reason, threatens national security.

To address the problem, President Mahama stated that he has set up the Ministry of Youth Development to find ways to address the concerns of youths in the country.

President Mahama explained that “The youth unemployment has lead to despair and frustration.”

”This poses a major security risk to our country and requires urgent attention,” he emphasized.
