PRIORITIZE MEDICAL CHECK-UPS TO AVOID UNWANTED DEATHS – COP MAAME TIWAA URGES PUBLIC
COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, the Ekuo Na of Holy Family Akankuo in the Accra Archdiocese of the Catholic Church, has urged the public especially Akankuo members to prioritise their health needs and go for regular check-ups.
She said this would ensure a healthy body than living on the assumption that they are well because of being able to move freely without noticeable or visible conditions. Added that regular check-ups help individuals to know their health status and to maintain a healthy life.
Speaking at a Zone 2 Akankuo visitation, which coincided with her birthday celebration, held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Awoshie-Anyaa, Accra, COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah stressed that parents should not solely rely on teachers and others to discipline their children.
“We need to prioritize our health. It’s not always necessary to go to the gym; simply walking as much as possible can be beneficial. We shouldn’t rely on others to do everything for us. Even if we have a car, it’s good to walk sometimes. By taking small steps like these, we can improve our overall well-being.”
During her address, COP Addo-Danquah shared a personal experience where she suffered a leg problem after a flight abroad. Despite visiting several hospitals, the doctors concluded that her issue was due to being overweight. As a result, she emphasized the importance of exercise and has made it a habit to stay active, even at the workplace.
She also offered advice to the Akankuo members, urging them to be punctual at meetings to help the society grow in numbers and also make themselves available for job opportunities.
