The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has strengthened its grassroots presence with the commissioning of a new constituency office in Bantama, Ashanti Region. The colourful ceremony brought together national executives, regional and constituency leaders, Members of Parliament, and two former Presidents of Ghana John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

The state-of-the-art office was constructed and delivered by the Member of Parliament for Bantama, Hon. Francis Asenso-Boakye, who said the project was part of his commitment to ensuring that the constituency has a permanent hub for party organization, mobilization, and administration.

In his remarks, former President John Agyekum Kufuor delivered a strong message of caution to supporters of the party’s various flagbearer aspirants. He advised them to desist from hurling insults and engaging in backbiting, warning that such divisive tendencies could threaten the unity of the party and weaken its chances in the 2028 general elections. According to him, the NPP could only return to power if it focused on building unity and discipline rather than tearing itself apart. Kufuor reminded party members that the NPP had a proud legacy and a strong record in governance, but those achievements would only matter if the party remained cohesive and worked together under a common vision.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who also addressed the gathering, commended the Bantama MP for his foresight and dedication in providing the constituency with such a befitting office. He noted that the new facility would serve as a nerve centre for NPP activities in the Bantama Constituency and beyond and urge other constituencies to emulate the example.

The President further called on party faithful to actively publicize the achievements of both his administration and that of former President Kufuor. He emphasized that the NPP had delivered transformational policies and monumental projects that must not be forgotten in the political discourse, as they form the basis of the party’s credibility going forward.

Taking aim at the opposition, Nana Akufo-Addo reminded Ghanaians of their experiences under former President John Dramani Mahama’s governance, stressing that the difference between the NPP and NDC records was clear.

He maintained that Ghanaians have seen the performance of the second coming of president John Dramani mahama.
