OKAIKWEI NORTH MP PRESENTS RELIEF ITEMS TO OVER 1,210 FLOOD VICTIMS
Members of Parliament for Okaikwei North Constituency, Hon. Theresa Lardi Awuni aka Obaanoa have provided relief support to 1,210 flood victims following June 29 heavy downpours.
According to her,this relief efforts are part of ongoing disaster recovery initiatives across flood-prone areas within the constituency.

Addressing residents during the presentation at the Alogboshie Durbar grounds in Accra today, Hon. Theresa Lardi Awuni aka Obaanoa expressed sympathy to all families and individuals affected by the floods, assuring them of continued support as recovery efforts progress.

She said her thoughts remain with all affected families during this difficult period. We are committed to supporting our people as they recover from the devastating impact of the floods.
She distributed mattresses, rice, cooking oil and cash and also presented school uniforms to Alogboshie clusters as a support to aid affected families as they began the process of rebuilding their lives and recovering from the disaster.
She also urged residents living along waterways, flood-prone areas, and wetlands to take proactive measures to relocate to safer locations in order to reduce the risk of future disasters.
She emphasized the importance of securing the necessary building permits before undertaking construction projects to ensure compliance with planning regulations and environmental standards.
She however commended NADMO officials for their swift response and coordination efforts following the disaster, noting that their intervention had helped provide immediate assistance to affected communities.
She therefore said as recovery efforts continue, residents have been encouraged to remain vigilant, adhere to safety advisories, and support initiatives aimed at building a more resilient and disaster-prepared in the Constituency.
