National Chief Imam, Osmanu Nuhu Sharabutu, has called on political leaders and stakeholders, particularly the Electoral Commission (EC), to prioritize transparency and fairness in the upcoming elections.
Addressing the media, the spokesperson for the Chief Imam, Sheikh Aremeyaw, urged all political parties to refrain from using inflammatory language that could incite violence, especially among the youth.
Sheikh Aremeyaw emphasized the critical need for peace, stating that no politician is worth the blood of any citizen.
He highlighted that Ghana’s hard-won peace and stability should not be jeopardized by political ambitions.
According to him, Ghana has been gifted with peace since 1992, and this peace is a gift from God; hence, it must not be destroyed.
The call for peaceful conduct comes amid rising tensions surrounding the electoral process, with various political parties expressing concerns about the integrity of the voter register.
