The Minority in Parliament has accused President John Dramani Mahama of causing unemployment following a recent mass termination of appointments in the public sector.
Addressing the press on Monday, March 3, 2025, Former Finance Minister, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, indicated that the termination of jobs of young Ghanaians is a means to create vacancies for NDC employees youth.
“Ladies and gentlemen, it is now a notorious fact that, to create vacancies for the purposes of employing NDC youth, the Mahama administration has sacked thousands of young Ghanaians who had been properly employed by the previous administration,” he said.
He likened President John Mahama’s actions to ‘Terminator 1,’ emphasizing that this is a sign of what is yet to come.
According to him, sacking people from their jobs and replacing them with others does not mean job creation however, what Ghanaians want is to create jobs for people who are yet to be employed.
“The termination of the jobs of young Ghanaians, which has become synonymous with President Mahama as ‘Terminator 1,’ is a sign of what is yet to come,” he asserted.
“Sacking people from employment and replacing them with others does not amount to job creation. What the people of Ghana want are new jobs for those yet to be employed.”
