In a bid to promote cleanliness and community involvement, the Assemblyman of Adjen Kotoku Electoral Area, Odartei Mohammed Jonas recently led a clean-up exercise in the town to improve sanitation within the community.
During the event, he acknowledged that while he had previously initiated clean-up exercises, he was particularly proud of the turnout this time around.
However, he rated his performance a 4 out of 10, citing poor publicity as an area for improvement.
To address this, he plans to provide a week’s notice for future clean-up exercises to ensure better participation from the townspeople.
The assemblyman also emphasized the importance of proper waste management, urging every household to acquire dustbins for waste disposal.
He assured residents that rubbish collectors would be available to collect waste from these bins.
Mr. Odartei also announced plans to organize clean-up exercises every three months, ensuring continuity of the project.
He warned that shop owners who fail to participate would be required to close their shops for two hours as penalty.
Mr. Odartei used the opportunity to express gratitude to the Almighty God for a successful exercise and thanked the chiefs for their support.
The assemblyman’s initiative has been well-received by the community, with many residents expressing appreciation for his efforts to promote a cleaner and healthier environment.
With the support of the chiefs and the community, the assemblyman is confident that his vision for a cleaner town will become a reality.
